February 2003

March 7, 2003 Marching forward, cuz that’s what we do. Let’s look back on an exciting February … Had a great time playing the first two DPK/DC101 Local Lix Showcases at Jaxx, sharing the stage with such notables as Rotoglow, 33 West, Joe Bonamassa, and Antigone Rising. Be sure to check out the press page for review of the first show from On Tap Magazine. The F&M gig was a snowy delight and Valentines’ Day night at the Tombs in G-town was as fun as it gets, 4 hrs of continues acousto-mayhem, building up to a rapturous finale of “The Gambler.” Almost turned this old Main-Line Nova backer into a Hoya fan … almost. March is starting busy and getting busier, with solo shows in Arlington and Baltimore, band shows in Fairfax, Arlington and Baltimore, and more unconfirmed possibilities than you could theoretically shake a stick at, if the presence of the stick could be positively confirmed. So, my dear friends, please continue your fine support of local independent music, we would not be able to afford our lavish lifestyles without your continued patronage. You know, it takes the burning of many hundred-dollar bills to heat our servants’ quarters. Keep an eye out for a new look on jakelaufer.com, be sure to click around for some surprise content, buy CD’S (!!!) and see you at the shows! jl
